Nine

I set up my studio to do some senior yearbook pictures, and of course we played around a little! We used the main light without a fill light to put a little drama into the girls’ photo, and I thought it would be fun to make it look a little vintage (I’ve been into that a lot lately!), I think it turned out pretty darn sassy. I’ll have to try this with some dress up outfits :)

Eight

I take pictures of EVERYTHING! (well, almost ;) ) I take pictures of mundane things, and sometimes exciting things, and of course of people. When I take pictures of boring things, I try to spice the picture up a little and turn something ordinary into something special. So we have a ghetto bike on the side of our house, just laying there. There is some garbage around it; buckets, weeds, rocks, tools, etc. I snapped a photo of it today, and it was not great. There were so many distractions, and the color was not very saturated. So I messed with it in PS. I think it turned out sort of sweet. Kind of ‘Ye Olde Tyme’ style! It took away a lot of the distractions, and the color doesn’t matter anymore! Gotta’ love PS!

Six

I was looking at some examples for senior pictures, and found a really fun website that made your pictures into Polaroid's for you (yes, I can do this in Photoshop, but I am too lazy to do it!!) So I took a picture, posterized it, and then “Rolliped” (my new favorite term) and now I have a sweet, rather funky looking Polaroid!

Five

So I was duped into babysitting this week. For free to boot! I had some fun though, look how cute this little girl is!

Cadence is 4, she’s adorable, and she thinks she is a puppy. When she grows up she wants to be a “Mamma, who is having three kids!”  :)

Five

Here is a fact about Whitney: I LOVE PHOTOSHOP. I could play on it all day, everyday. So when I don’t have a lot of pictures to edit, I get antsy without Photoshop! So today I didn’t have any pictures to edit, so I looked through my pictures and found a pretty cute one of my sister Jordie.

Here she is, adorable huh?

Jordie original

Well editing that only took about 2 minutes. That’s not enough PS time for me!! So I wanted to change her looks a little. First I messed with her hair color, but it looked a little weird because of the little frizzies, so instead I messed with her eye color.

Here she is with green eyes:

Kind of subtle, but it looks pretty good :) Here she is with blue eyes!

Jordie Blue eyes

I especially like the last one because her best friend and her always get asked if they are brother and sister, but he has bright blue eyes, and she has hazel. Now they’d be even more confused! Love ya Jord!

I am an indie girl at heart. I love alternative music, indie clothing stores, cutting my hair, and dying it crazy colors. Alright, that being said I have a few things to get off my chest. I LOVE COUNTRY. I love flowing skirts, paisley, tall grass, old barns and cowboy hats. I love taking pictures of all of these things. I think they are beautiful and VERY photogenic. I admit, that I make fun of country music, and hicks, and old beat up Chevy’s, but COME ON! Who doesn’t love a hot cowboy? I think the answer to that is no one. I know I love a cute pair of cowboy boots :)
